Randy Andrews - Owner, President & Chief Executive Officer

Randy Andrews founded Andrews International in 1988, as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics Unit, and has strategically grown the company every year of its existence.

Randy's initial goal to provide a first class professional security service with a wide range of service capabilities to his clients has proven to be a successful and desired model. Randy has diversified Andrews International's client base to include a wide range of clientele, from individuals and small business enterprises to Fortune 200 corporations; all seeking security and risk mitigation services that are unique and specialized for their particular need. Randy is actively involved in fundraising and philanthropy as an active member of the Southern California community.

The completion of the $3.5 million dollar training center complex in Burbank, CA, underlines Randy's committment to the very highest standards of training. AITC offers the law enforcement family and security professional the cleanest, safest, most environmentally friendly indoor shooting range and training facility on the West Coast.

 

Don Anderson is the Vice President for Special Events and Training for Andrews International.

Don is a veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department with over thirty-two years of experience. He was a member of the prestigious Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) for twenty-eight years of his career. Among his accomplishments are the 1998 National Top Cop Award, SWAT Officer of the year for l991 and l997, and the LAPD's highest award, the “Medal of Valor”.

Don's expertise in tactics and field procedures is recognized nationwide. He has been an instructor for the International Association of Chief's of Police and the National Tactical Officer's Association. He is also certified as a range master for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Police Officer Standards and Training Commission for the State of California.

Don has developed emergency operations and response plans for numerous high-profile events. His talents are also sought after by Hollywood where he serves as a technical advisor for teleevision shows and the movies. Don has been commended and thanked by six United States Presidents for providing dignitary protection to them. Don's technical and professional experience is unsurpassed; he is a tremendous asset to the company and its clients.

Don is also a P.O.S.T Certified Rangemaster (California Rangemaster Association).

 

Michael Cantrell is Vice President, Entertainment Operations and Executive Protection for Andrews International.

Prior to joining Andrews International, Michael held a number of high profile executive management positions, both in the motion picture entertainment field and the defense industry.

Michael began as a graduate of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Academy and served as a police officer for the city of Culver City, California, where he worked in the patrol division and served as a Field Training Officer.

Michael's executive management experience began with TRW Space & Defense Division as Manager, Physical Security. In this capacity, Michael managed a physical security department of 18,000 employees located in fifty-six facilities in the Los Angeles area, and seven other facilities nationwide, with over 400 personnel under his direct control.

After almost 8 years working with classified government programs, Michael moved to the entertainment security sector, accepting a position with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc. at the Sony Pictures Entertainment world HQ in Culver City, California. During his 11-year stay, Michael attained the position of Vice President, Corporate Security & Fire/Life Safety, with global responsibilities. In this capacity he managed a number of multi-million dollar budgets, developed a staff of over 200 personnel, and had direct responsibility of Investigations, Executive Protection, Threat Management, Uniformed Division, Traffic Division, Special Event Logistics, Technical Security Services, Command Central, Emergency Operations Center and Emergency Preparedness Department.

Concurrent with his executive management position at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Michael reinstated his active status with the Culver City Police Department in 1995, and is a licensed Firearms Instructor with the police department. His expertise and involvement with the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services as a security/firearms expert, garnered him a position with the BSIS Special Expertise Committee tasked with the responsibility of revising and implementing a statewide improved firearms manual and training program for the security industry.

In September of 2001, Michael joined Andrews International as Vice President, Entertainment Operations and Executive Protection Division. He oversees the Andrews International personnel assigned to Sony Pictures Entertainment, Culver Studios, KTLA, Sunset Gower, Fox Entertainment and Warner Brothers Studios.

Michael has utilized his many years within the entertainment industry to help provide Andrews International's growing list of high-profile motion picture clients with unparalleled entertainment security consulting, on-site management, and staffing.

Mike is a P.O.S.T Certified Rangemaster (California Rangemaster Association) and a Certified Firearms Instructor: (California Department of Justice).

Richard (Rick) Lopez was hired by Andrews International in 2008 as a Rangemaster and is both a P.O.S.T Certified Rangemaster (California Rangemaster Association) and a P.O.S.T Certified Firearms Instructor in Handgun, Shotgun, and Long Rifle (California Dept. of Justice).

Rick retired from the Los Angeles Police Department after thirty years of service with about half his career in the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT) and the other half in the Narcotics Division. Rick was tasked to create a tactical training unit for the Narcotics Division gathering a teaching staff from within the department, procuring equipment, ammunition, and offering instruction at select training facilities. He retired as a Detective Supervisor, and is still processing for the L.A.P.D. Reserve program continuing to train L.A.P.D. officers.

Rick's instructor teaching experience also includes Tactical Firearms, Search Warrant Entry Tactics, Search Warrant Manual Breaching, Narcotics Instructor, and Arrest and Control. Rick has been an instructor for the L.A.P.D. for 15 years and now offers specialized classes at Andrews International Training Center for security and law enforcement professionals.

Larry Kagele is a 30 year police veteran and former LAPD Detective (Burglary, Auto Theft Division - "Bad Cats") and was an instructor at the LAPD Detective School. Larry has served in a number of teaching and management positions in the private security sector, and has also owned his own security company. Larry is our lead Powers to Arrest training instructor.
